Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels
LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS

Britannia does ‘Reservoir Dogs’ in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Eddy plays the biggest card game of his life and ends up owing Hatchet Harry a hundred big ones. Eddy and his mates, Tom, Soap, and Bacon (he’s been in and out of the old nick so much people think he’s a pig) get hold of the money plus some but find themselves in the proverbial fire. With a supporting cast including Vinnie Jones and real-life gangster Lenny McLean, this is a decent stab into Tarantino’s world of fast, funny one-liners and co-incidental encounters let down by a too-concious-to-be-cool film-making style and second hour descent into banality.
