Like the third installment of the Superman franchise, this was the beginning of the end for the first Batman franchise, as Joel Schumacher took the reins. Neon colours begin to be introduced, and the villains got really campy, with Tommy Lee Jones screaming indecipherably throughout. The film isn’t all bad, and new Batman Val Kilmer makes a decent fist of it.
