Half of The Dark Knights Rises in full IMAX

If rumours of the running time (about two hours) are correct, then ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ could well utilise the full IMAX format for half of it’s running time. The Wall Street Journal reports ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ will feature an hour of IMAX footage.

Reports are suggesting director Christopher Nolan has pulled out all the stops for his final Batman movie. ‘The Dark Knight’ featured around forty minutes of IMAX footage, so DP Wally Pfister has outdone himself. All parties connected to the film have oft-stated their love for the IMAX format (and conversely their antipathy for the 3D wave).

‘The Dark Knight’ (2008) really woke Hollywood up to the potential of IMAX (finally!) when it kept on selling out in advance for weeks on end. Will ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ do even better?
