LILO AND STITCH
BEUNA VISTA
RELEASED 4 October 2002
Millions of miles from Earth, an illegal genetic experiment called 626, a blue dog-like creation bent on all things destructive, is sentenced to be banished into deep space, but escapes and steals a ship. 626 crash lands on Earth, in Hawaii. A lonely Hawaiian girl called Lilo wants a dog for a friendly companion, 626 is chosen by Lilo and later named ‘Stitch’. But unknowingly, 626’s creators are in pursuit.
The films animation and colour is wonderful, but when isn’t Disney good? The plot follows the fairy tale ‘The Ugly Duckling’, which provides a sweet and sorrowful tale. The action starts near to the end, which provides a nice variety throughout the film. The film closely follows ‘E.T.’ and is a great family film for the summer even if it does lack a big enough chunk of humour.
