What is The Matrix? You have to see it for yourself. Neo (Keanu Reeves) is shown the startling truth about the world by shadowy Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne) after being contacted by Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss). What he learns forces him to battle the ‘Agents’ - deadly inhabitants of The Matrix - for the freedom of mankind. Is Neo ‘the One’ to save the day? This sci-fi actioner has the best fighting sequences seen for some time, due mainly to a technique labelled ‘bullet-time photography’ where footage is shot at 12,000 frames per second leading to ultra-slo-mo photography. The graphics are spectacular and Keanu isn’t bad either. One of the best action films of the nineties.
