Set in 30’s America, this is an against-the-odds tale about three men and a horse. Johnny "Red" Pollard (Tobey Maguire) is a young man whose spirit has been broken; Charles Howard (Jeff Bridges) is a millionaire who has lost everything; and Tom Smith (Chris Cooper) is a cowboy whose world is vanishing. They discover hope in an unlikely place through the magnificence of a racehorse named Seabiscuit, bringing them together to make racing history.

Director Gary Ross (Pleasantville) handles this emotional true story with consumate skill and there is a wonderful cameo from William H. Macey (Fargo, Boogie Nights) as reporter "Tick-Tock" McGlaughlin. A sure-fire crowd-pleaser.
